Dear Edventures community,
May was a month of diverse progress. We polished the platform, migrated our infrastructure, and pushed forward on a few international partnerships that have been brewing for a while. We also launched our own online pitch deck so we’re not boxed in by any free tier service, and got accepted into the Aiven and Scaleway startup programmes, which gives us an extended runway for the coming year.
If you’re just getting to know us, here’s a recap
Whether it’s your first or hundredth newsletter, I’m so happy you’re reading this newsletter and that you want to follow us on our journey towards becoming the global leader in entrepreneurship support, democratising entrepreneurship education and learning for all. You’re receiving this newsletter because we’ve been in touch for the past weeks, months or maybe years, and because your interest, skills, experience and/or professional focus aligns with our mission and values.

TL;DR
- The platform received significant polish this month, including a redesigned Referral Programme UI and improved navigation across light and dark modes for better daily use.
- Key technical improvements included seamless integration with password managers (Apple Keychain, 1Password, Chrome Password Manager) and comprehensive spell-checking across all text fields.
- We launched our own online pitch deck at pitchdeck.edventures.ai to maintain full control over analytics and functionality.
- Strong momentum continues with international partners; we are expecting increased activity following discussions with a major organisation in India.
- Infrastructure stability is secured, having been accepted into the Aiven and Scaleway startup programmes, providing us with substantial technical resources for the coming 12 months.
💜 Team News
No changes in the team, as we continue to focus on building the platform and getting more users onto it.
⚙️ Product Evolution
May brought a wave of polish and personalisation across Edventures. We redesigned the Referral Programme UI, making it much easier to access the referral page, for you to invite friends, track those referrals, or share your unique link. On the front end, we focused on clarity; this meant improving navigation so users always know where they are within the app, giving the light theme a softer look while also polishing up dark mode.
On the practical side of things, our sign-in and sign-up flows now connect smoothly with password managers like Apple Keychain, Chrome Password Manager, and 1Password, and spell-check has landed across all text fields - small fixes that really simplify daily use. We’ve launched several general hygiene improvements to lift the overall user experience.
Under the hood, we focused a lot on reliability. The web app now handles file caching much better, meaning no more white screens popping up after an update. We also squashed a rendering overflow bug on the Canvas project overview and made sure tab bar scrolling and sidebar toggling behave smoothly across the board. These smaller fixes included updates to password reset redirects and onboarding states.
Of course, May was busy with some bigger shifts. Our supercomputer platform, LUMI, and how we administer those resources changed during this month, which meant adjusting to new administrative realities for us. This required setting up brand-new accounts and dashboards that we have now familiarised ourselves with. With the final days of May and the first days of June having been spent on migrating from OVH to Aiven and Scaleway, we look forward to getting back to the real work on developing our own, entrepreneurship-specific LLM, in June and onwards. Now we’re also supported by a stronger technical infrastructure.
As mentioned, we’ve migrated the infrastructure itself - moving from OVHcloud to Aiven and Scaleway after getting accepted into both their startup programmes. All these moves explain why this newsletter is a little later than usual.
Looking ahead, a major focus is our research feature. This tool helps founders dive deeper into their ideation and launch phases. This idea grew partly from what we wanted to build earlier, but user feedback received throughout May validated its necessity and urgency.
🌍 Community
Our talks with a major organisation in India have continued; though we had to iterate on and clarify several details during May. We also lost some tome to sickness, travel, and other unforeseen delays, but overall I’m genuinely encouraged by where things are moving. We have good indications of strong alignment there, and I’m expecting this momentum to pick up considerably over the coming weeks.
We also agreed verbally to sign a new MOU with ECC, Hungary’s largest student-run startup launchpad, bringing our signed partnerships count up to six! Because of summer being just around the corner, we’re working towards an August pilot start date for that one, and onboarding those learners will happen once the university cycle is back after the holidays.
During May we’ve launched our own dedicated online pitch deck at pitchdeck.edventures.ai. Up until now, we’ve been using Papermark which is a product I’ve been content with and that has provided a good solution to easily sharing our pitch deck as a link, and not having to pay for it. Even though it has been helpful, being restricted by their free tier (especially with basic functions like opening links being disabled) was frustrating. So I had the idea mid May to build something customised to our needs, which only took a few hours to put together, yet it gives us total control over everything: analytics, layouts, the table of contents, and PDF downloads. On top of that, we fully control the branding.
💰 Funding Opportunities
Some good funding news: we’ve secured a 12-month runway with both Aiven and Scaleway, starting June 1st, after being accepted into their startup programmes. This extends our runway as we continue to work on securing more traction, while also building out core features.
What stood out about Aiven beyond the extended runway is how aligned they are with how we already work and what we value. Their whole platform is built on and for open-source frameworks, which matches how we like to build. That genuine alignment feels good to have as we move forward with our LUMI resources and start building our own LLM.
The reception has also been personal. They’ve been quick to get on calls, open with their team, and accommodating in ways that don’t usually happen at this stage. It feels more like a relationship than a credits programme. On the other front, Scaleway is outright replacing OVH, which simplifies things as we’ve migrated our servers over there.
On the investment side, I had some valuable talks with a handful of investors who were curious about what we are building; however, those conversations haven’t led to anything more concrete than an agreement to ’let’s talk later.’ We also applied to the Supercharger Ventures CohortX, which is an 8-week pre-seed accelerator programme designed to get startups investment-ready and gain investor access. We have a final interview scheduled for the second week of June.
👀 What’s in the Pipeline for Next Month?
- Shipping the first version of the research tool to help founders go deeper during ideation and launch.
- Final interview with Supercharger Ventures CohortX in the second week of June.
- Spinning up our new infrastructure on Aiven and Scaleway now that the migration is complete.
- Next steps with our partner in India, with the goal of moving from alignment to a concrete agreement.
- Continued refinement of core coaching loops and AI interaction models for deeper founder support.
